This is a fully reconditioned brake pump with a 3/4" (inch) union on the end of the high-pressure pipe that fits to the top of the brake pump.

Our reconditioning process involves initially stripping the pump down so that every component can be deep cleaned and inspected for wear. The body is then Aquablasted, ensuring that any rust or contamination is removed. Special care is taken to ensure that the castellated section of the main body is serviceable. Very often the teeth are damaged. We refinish any damaged teeth in order to allow continued use of the correct fitting tool (RH8428). The unit is then rebuilt with brand new O rings (UE36747P & UE32170P), main spring (UR70731P), inlet valve (UE9491P), inlet valve spring (UE9672), washer (UE9488), spacer ring (UE9494), seating ring (UE35311P), non-return valve (UE44992P) and circlip (XB14183LP).

Once complete the unit is tested for full functionality on our hydraulic test rig which replicates, as closely as possible, the conditions that the pump would experience during normal operation on the vehicle. The finished pump is given a unique FS warranty number, which we log, and can refer to if needed. This pump comes with a full 12-month guarantee. Prior to VIN 12400 (approximately) all cars were fitted with thin bore pipes between the brake pumps and the accumulator spheres. The brake pumps for these models were fitted with a 5/16" union on the high-pressure pipes. From VIN 12400 (approx) a thicker bore pipe was fitted which required larger 3/4" unions on the pipes between the pumps and the valve bodies. The larger bore pipes are recommended as a modification. Earlier models may, therefore, already have been upgraded so please check the union size on your pump prior to ordering.

Please contact us if you would like a kit to modify your car to the later thicker bore pipes. Very often problems with brake pumps and low system pressure are caused by wear on the lobe on the camshaft that activates the brake pump push rod. In order to try to rectify this problem without having to replace the camshaft (a very costly job) we have machined some flanges to be 0.030" (inches) thinner than the original (UE9490-0.030SXR). If your camshaft lobe is worn then we recommend fitting this flange and then shimming the flange in order to obtain the correct push rod heights.

Following a number of issues with the quality of rubber O rings, we can confirm that our O rings are now manufactured to a known consistent compound formula with full traceability, independently tested to ensure volume increase (swell) and that no negative swell (shrinkage) occurs. As an international mail order company, our focus is to get parts to our customers as quickly and economically as possible. Where possible we will try to provide a choice of shipping options.

Our database knows the weight of every part listed on our website. In the majority of cases this allows automatic shipping options for each order to be chosen at the checkout. Unfortunately, penalties will be imposed by all shipping companies if a parcel is particularly large in size compared to its weight, this is commonly known as “voluming out”. This means that sometimes we are unable to accurately quote shipping for orders until we have packed the parcel and confirmed the shipping cost.

Please be aware that import duties and taxes may apply in countries outside of the European Union. All duties and taxes are set by the Customs Authority of the destination country and, as such, we have no control over them.
