“The best laid plans do not always come to fruition, as we see here. Restoration was the aim with a second car being acquired to assist with the project. That was some years ago and as is often the case, other things take priority, and projects such as this have a habit of being ‘shelved’. Cutting a very long story short, the owner decided that the job was too great to complete and needed to dispose of everything that he had accrued. Starting life in 1960, the original car was a Bentley S2 saloon, finished in Midnight Blue over Steel Blue, this being changed to White at some point during its life, presumably for use as a wedding carriage. Now in the condition we see here, the car is way beyond restoration but will yield many valuable components for other similar projects.”
