"Originally registered in the UK in 1964, this late S3 ended up in California which is normally a guarantee against corrosion due to the favourable climate. However, we’re not sure of the condition of this one, when it arrived there. Repatriated by ourselves as a possible project, it soon proved to be rather beyond saving so has now been recycled to save more worthy examples."
