"An early example of the long wheelbase Silver Spur, this car was first registered on August 1st 1981. Purchased by the previous owner just over a year ago, with a view to regular use, a number of tasks were completed but unfortunately, the peeling everflex roof covering was hiding some serious corrosion and the estimate for repairs and replacement was somewhat frightening. At some point in its life, this car has also acquired a non-standard, plastic, rear screen (or ‘backlight’ to use the correct technical term). More corrosion issues became apparent, together with additional mechanical work being required so once again, the project was not economically viable. The extra legroom provided by the Spur is always desirable but in this case, is not enough to save it from the recyclers."
