British luxury car maker Rolls-Royce has redesigned its iconic and popular mascot, the Spirit of Ecstasy. Set to debut on the bonnet of the first electric Rolls-Royce (due at the end of 2023), the car is to be called "Spectre" and will be the most aero-efficient Rolls-Royce motor car ever created.

The British marque unveiled the new mascot design on their 111th birthday. Celebrating the appearance of the first Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood of a Rolls-Royce back in 1911.

The major difference with the new Silver Lady is regarding her stance, as she is tucked into a slightly lower, more dynamic position. Another significant change of appearance is the position of the lady’s feet, with one foot ahead of the other (whereas before they used to be together).

Rolls-Royce have also decided to modify her robes. Previously these were mistaken by many for wings, so they have been reshaped to make them sleeker and more realistic.

It is worth noting that the new ornaments will only be used on new Roll-Royce models going forward, with the current Spirit of Ecstasy continuing with current car models such as the Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Dawn and Cullinan.
