Question: Following a bad/leaking pipe under the Mineral Oil reservoir, I decided to replace them. Once in place and ensured everything was tightened correctly, I ran the engine for about 5 minutes then filled again the reservoir with new oil. Shortly after I saw the rear end raising as it should and all was perfect, until few days later I found the rear was sagging again, so I lifted the hood and the engine was covered of mineral oil .
I just have no idea on how this happened as the reservoir was still closed, and to this day remain a mystery to me on how the oil would have went all over like that .
It is obvious that I have done something wrong along the lines, but if someone could give me a hint before I try refilling it would be great!
Answer: Sometimes it is possible to overfill the reservoir but the fluid is usually forced out of the overflow and falls on the ground inside the left hand front wheel. To help diagnose your problem I would need to know where the oil has come from.......
I would recommend refilling the reservoir but maybe only 2/3 full and then running the car so that the back comes up and then leaving it to stand overnight before checking the levels again.
