Camshaft & Tappets

The V8 engine in the Silver Cloud II & III and S2 & S3 are very prone to noisy hydraulic tappets. We have done extensive research on the causes.

The diagram shows the valve assembly for the later Series 2 models (from SXC19 & B22CU) and all Series 3 models. If you have an early Series 2 model that has not been modified please email us for parts relating to your car.
All of the Silver Cloud II and S2 models and the very early Silver Cloud III (before VIN SCX657) and S3 (before VIN B346CN) were fitted with camshaft bearings.
