Brake Pumps & Push Rods
The part numbers on the attached diagram relate to cars from VIN 20755 onwards. Earlier models before this VIN were originally fitted with a solid brake pump push rod housing (without cut-outs for oil lubrication) and different length & width push rod. Please see the listings below for RH3143 & RH3143U for further details on how to modify the earlier cars to this later assembly.
From VIN 12400 (approx) the diameter of the solid pipe between the brake pump and the accumulator was increased. Accordingly the union on the high pressure pipe that fits onto the brake pumps was increased from 5/16" to 3/4". Please check which size union your pipes have prior to ordering. The accumulator pipes we supply (UR18568P, UR20925P and UR17518P) are all suitable for the later union pumps.
The brake pumps can be removed in situ by using tool RH8428 (listed below to buy or hire). Should you need to access the push rod and housing below the pump you will need to remove the carburetters and inlet manifold. Further details on how to do this can be found here.
